Digital Real-Estate
Digital Real-Estate
Unlike Real Estate, Digital Real Estate takes little to no upkeep. You don’t have to fix the plumbing or pay property tax on it every year. And unlike traditional real estate, it can be built with the smallest budget. Digital real estate can pay you a passive stream of income in royalties.
A royalty is a legally binding payment made to an individual or company for the ongoing use of their property, including copyrighted works, franchises, and natural resources. Royalties can be collected for tangible and intangible assets.

Digital real estate is another word for an intangible asset. Songwriters are one example of a creator of an intangible asset. Because every time their song that they have published gets played on the radio, they earn a tiny royalty and that tiny royalty combined with a million other tiny royalties adds up to a significant royalty payment.
You don’t have to be an author or song writer to create digital real estate.
The crazy thing is many people who one digital real estate didn’t write anything. Some of the wealthiest owners of digital real estate outsourced the writing and editing of their products to a third party. Or at the very least, have partnered with ghost writers or other content creators. So, if you have an idea for a product, but are not a writer or artist, there are other options.
The Digital Age.
For good or bad, we are living in a digital age. Growing up in the 1980s, if I wanted to hear a song I liked, I would have to go to a record store and buy a cassette or later a CD to listen to the song. Or I would have to wait to hear it on the radio randomly. Now music is just a digital product. But someone owns that digital product.
Digital products.
Digital products are amazing, because there’s no need to restock inventory after each sale. If your digital product is evergreen, it can be sold over and over again. You don’t even have to be present to sell your digital content. Imagine being on a beach with your loved ones and your digital products are being sold around the world creating new royalties for you while you vacation. What I love about this space is I don’t have to contact my friends and family and ask them to buy from me. Because there are people out there searching every day for the products that I sell on Amazon and other platforms.
You can have multiple streams of income from digital real estate in the form of many digital products.
Examples of digital products:
- Ebooks
- Audiobooks
- Music
- Print on demand products, books, t-shirts, etc.
- Online courses
- Affiliate marketing
Don’t quit your day job.
You don’t have to go full time to build your digital real estate empire. One of the biggest challenges people face during times of Stag-flation is job insecurity. Having digital real estate, digital products that pay you every month, could give you a safety-net should the worst happen. You need more income to balance the rising cost of living during times of inflation.
Making Evergreen Digital Products.
An evergreen digital product is an online product that sells over and over every year, even without advertising. In order to create every green digital product, you must do market research. Because when doing market research, you can learn what are the products that consumers are looking for and buying month after month, year after year.
Mentorship.
I suggest that if you want to create Digital Real Estate; that you find a mentor. You can do that by reading a book or taking a seminar or by hiring a coach. You wouldn’t try to build a house without a blueprint. In fact, it would be crazy to build a house without learning many skills like construction and carpentry skills or by learning how to hire a skilled sub contractor.

My experience with Digital Real Estate.
If building an online business that can pay you day after day by creating digital content seems attractive to you, here’s my take aways and observations.
- Pick one sector or genre. Master one field before going to another one. This could be publishing romance or sci-fi books. Or it could be becoming an expert in one area of self help or how to, publishing biographies or countless other niches.
- Don’t become a permanent student only. What I mean is to take action. You are going to have to take action while you are learning and then go back and review your action and learn more and take more action. What I see many people do is spend money taking course after course or buy tool after tool, but they never start creating digital products. Fear is what holds people back from taking action.
- Don’t compare yourself with other people creating digital real estate. You can go fast or slow in building your digital empire, but that depends on you. Your work ethic, your knowledge base, your experience. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Because you never know what successful people have gone through to get there.
- Commit to excellence. The people who are the best at creating digital real estate are committed to excellence. They have a winning mentality. Successful people think like the best in their field. They see themselves as the best at what they do. Consequently, they take more action than all the rest.
